Event Organizer Information: Organizers who list events provide additional details including business or organization name, event descriptions, venue information, ticket pricing, payout and banking details (processed securely through our payment partners), and government-issued identification for identity verification where required.
Ticket Purchases: When purchasing tickets, we collect billing name, email address, and billing address. Payment card data is entered directly into Stripe's secure payment interface — we do not store, process, or have access to your card details on our servers.
Event Attendance Information: You may be asked to provide details required by organizers, such as dietary preferences, accessibility needs, or other event-specific information.
Communications: When you contact us for support, post in community forums, or communicate with organizers through our Platform, we retain records of those communications.
3.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you use our Platform, we automatically collect the following:
• Device and Technical Data: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device identifiers, and mobile carrier.
• Usage Data: Pages visited, events browsed and searched, tickets viewed and purchased, time spent on pages, links clicked, and search queries.
• Location Data: With your consent, we may collect precise geolocation data from your mobile device to surface nearby events. You may disable location permissions in your device settings at any time.
• Transaction Data: Records of tickets purchased, events attended, and refunds or exchanges processed.
• Cookies and Tracking Technologies: We use cookies, web beacons, pixel tags, and similar technologies to enhance your experience. See Section 9 (Cookies) for full details.
3.3 Information from Third Parties
We may receive information about you from:
• Social Login Providers: If you register or log in via Facebook, Google, or Apple, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from that provider.

4.2 Personalization and Discovery
• Recommend events based on your location, browsing history, and past attendance.
• Customize search results and homepage content to reflect your interests.

4.3 Communications
• Send transactional emails and push notifications, including booking confirmations, e-tickets, event reminders, and refund updates.
• Send marketing communications about upcoming events, new features, or platform promotions (with your consent, and subject to opt-out at any time).
• Facilitate messaging between attendees and organizers through our in-platform messaging system.
4.4 Safety, Security, and Fraud Prevention
• Verify the identity of organizers and detect fraudulent or unauthorized activity.
• Monitor for and prevent abuse, spam, illegal listings, or violations of our Terms & Conditions.
• Protect the security of attendee payment information and Platform infrastructure.
4.5 Analytics and Platform Improvement
• Analyze usage trends to improve our features, user interface, and overall Platform performance.
• Conduct internal research and development, including testing new features.
• Generate aggregated and anonymized reports about event attendance trends.
4.6 Legal and Compliance
• Comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal proceedings.
• Enforce our Terms & Conditions and other policies.

5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share your information in the following circumstances:
5.1 With Event Organizers
When you purchase a ticket or register for an event, we share your name, email address, and ticket details with the event organizer. Organizers use this information to manage attendance, communicate event updates, and facilitate check-in. Organizers are required to handle your data in compliance with applicable law and our Organizer Terms.
5.2 With Service Providers
We share information with trusted third-party vendors who help operate our Platform, including:
• Stripe for secure payment processing. Card data is handled entirely by Stripe and never stored on EventGrid servers.
• Cloud hosting and infrastructure providers.
• Email and push notification delivery services.
• Analytics and performance monitoring providers.
• Fraud detection and identity verification services.
These service providers are contractually obligated to use your information only as directed by us and to maintain appropriate security standards.
5.3 With Other Users
Certain profile information, such as your display name and profile photo, may be visible to other users and organizers on the Platform. Event organizers' public profiles, including their organization name, past events, and ratings, are visible to all users.
5.4 Business Transfers
If EventGrid is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email or a prominent notice on the Platform prior to any such transfer.
5.5 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information when required to do so by law, subpoena, court order, or government regulation, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
5.6 With Your Consent
We may share your information for other purposes with your explicit consent at the time of collection.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. Specifically:
• Account data is retained for the duration of your account and for up to 3 years after account deletion for legal and business compliance purposes.
• Transaction and ticket records are retained for a minimum of 7 years to comply with financial recordkeeping regulations.
• Support communications are retained for 2 years after resolution.
• Marketing preference records are retained until you withdraw consent or delete your account.
You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Section 8). We will honor deletion requests subject to applicable legal obligations.
7. Data Security
We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include:
• TLS/SSL encryption for all data transmitted between your device and our servers.
• Encryption of sensitive data at rest, including payment and identity information.
• Access controls limiting data access to authorized personnel on a need-to-know basis.

• All payment transactions are processed through Stripe, which is PCI-DSS certified. EventGrid does not store card numbers, CVVs, or full payment credentials.
While we take reasonable precautions to protect your data, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. In the event of a data breach that affects your rights and freedoms, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
8.1 Access and Portability
You have the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, in a structured, machine-readable format.
8.2 Correction
You can update most of your account information directly in your profile settings. If you need assistance correcting inaccurate data, contact us at privacy@theeventgrid.com.
8.3 Deletion
You may request deletion of your account and personal information at any time by visiting your account settings or contacting us. Please note that some data may be retained to fulfill legal obligations or resolve disputes.
8.4 Opt-Out of Marketing
You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by clicking the "Unsubscribe" link in any marketing communication or updating your notification preferences in account settings. Opting out of marketing does not affect transactional communications related to your purchases.
8.5 Location Data
You may revoke our access to your device's location at any time through your mobile device settings. Note that disabling location access may limit your ability to discover nearby events.
8.6 California Residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. Our legal bases for processing include contract performance, legitimate interests, legal obligation, and consent.

We use the following categories of cookies and similar technologies on our Platform:
• Essential Cookies: Required for the Platform to function. These include session management, security tokens, and authentication cookies. These cannot be disabled.

Where required by law (e.g., GDPR), we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for international transfers, such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission, or transfers to countries with an adequacy decision.

Our Platform may contain links to third-party websites, social media platforms, or integrated services (e.g., mapping services, social sharing tools). 12. Event Organizer Data Responsibilities
Event organizers who use our Platform to collect, store, or process attendee information act as independent data controllers for that information. Organizers are solely responsible for ensuring their data practices comply with applicable laws, including obtaining any necessary consents from attendees. EventGrid acts as a data processor on behalf of organizers only to the extent required to provide our ticketing and management services.
Organizers must not use attendee data collected through EventGrid for purposes unrelated to the event without obtaining attendee consent. EventGrid reserves the right to suspend or terminate organizer accounts that violate these requirements.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make material changes, we will notify you by:
• Sending an email to the address associated with your account.
• Posting a prominent notice on our Platform or mobile application.
• Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this Policy.
Your continued use of the Platform after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the updated Policy, you must stop using the Platform and may request deletion of your account.
